Congressman Mark Alford of Missouri’s 4th District has voted in favor of releasing files related to Jeffrey Epstein and his alleged associates. In a statement, Alford emphasized the importance of transparency and justice.
“On my last day as a television news anchor and from the very beginning of the Epstein Files saga, I’ve said the only thing that matters is the truth. Time and again, I have advocated for any files in the Justice Department’s possession to be responsibly released, while protecting victims’ identities,” said Congressman Alford. “Transparency is not a partisan issue—it’s a moral one.
“The public has a right to know who enabled these heinous acts, and we must ensure the full scope of Epstein’s criminal network is exposed. The Epstein case has cast a long shadow over our institutions and fueled distrust among Americans. By releasing the files, we can begin to restore faith in our justice system.
“We will always fight for justice, while demanding complete and total transparency. The American people deserve nothing less.”
Alford has previously used op-eds, statements, his weekly podcast, and syndicated radio show to call on the Administration to release any relevant files while safeguarding victims’ personal information. He is also a cosponsor of H.Res. 589, which seeks public access to documents related to the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.
On September 3rd, 2025, Alford supported a resolution directing further investigation by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee into Epstein’s activities. This ongoing effort has resulted in more than 65,000 pages of documents being made available to the public.
Mark Alford has represented Missouri’s 4th district in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Vicky Hartzler (https://alford.house.gov/about). He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently lives in Lake Winnebago. Alford earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988.
