Missouri swimming and diving teams win double dual against Lindenwood and Southern Illinois

The University of Missouri’s swimming and diving teams secured strong victories in a double-dual meet against Lindenwood and Southern Illinois on Friday, November 3. The event took place at the St. Peters Rec-Plex.

Missouri’s women’s team defeated Lindenwood with a score of 213-83 and Southern Illinois 188-108. The men’s team also performed well, outscoring Lindenwood 176-119 and beating Southern Illinois 171.5-117.5.

Missouri athletes reached the podium in all 32 events during the competition, winning a total of 20 events and securing more than half of all podium positions. The women’s team swept the top three spots in the 200 freestyle, 200 butterfly, 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 500 freestyle. On the men’s side, Missouri achieved a sweep in the 100 backstroke.

In diving events, Kamryn Wong won both the women’s one-meter and three-meter competitions. Collier Dyer took first place in the men’s one-meter event but finished second in the three-meter by just 0.35 points.

Both Missouri relay teams started strong by winning their respective 200 medley relays. Fourteen individual wins followed for Mizzou swimmers.

Jane Smith led the women’s distance races with wins in both the 1000 freestyle (10:00.21) and the 500 freestyle (4:52.63). Taylor Williams excelled in sprint events, finishing first in both the women’s 50 freestyle (22.88) and the women’s 100 butterfly (53.46). Mikolaj Malec claimed victories in the men’s 1000 freestyle (9:18.86) and men’s 200 backstroke (1:45.25).

Other individual winners included Grant Bochenski, Peyton Drexler, Piper McNeil, Logan Ottke, Emily Roden, Daniel Wilson, Zara Zallen, and Jan Zubik.

Overall, Missouri earned a total of twenty wins along with twenty-three silver medals and twelve bronze medals across all events. Thirty-three different Tigers finished on the podium during this meet.

Kamryn Wong’s scores—252.30 on one-meter and 296.65 on three-meter—were each more than thirty points ahead of her closest competitors.

Among notable performances on the women’s side were Francesca Smith, Taylor Williams, and Zara Zallen each making four podium appearances; Daniel Wilson matched that accomplishment for the men’s team.

Missouri will compete next at home during the Mizzou Invitational starting November 15 at 9:30 a.m., with live results available through Meet Mobile.
