The University of Missouri’s swimming and diving teams competed in their final dual meet of the 2023-24 season against Purdue on January 13 in West Lafayette, Indiana. The men’s team recorded a tie with Purdue, ending the meet at 150-150, marking the first tie under head coach Andrew Grevers. The women’s team lost to Purdue 140-160 but secured a win over Illinois with a score of 195-105.
Missouri’s relay teams won all four relay events at the meet. The women’s 200 medley relay team—Ashley Gill, Lina Bank, Taylor Williams, and Francesca Smith—finished first with a time of 1:41.00. The men’s 200 medley relay squad—Grant Bochenski, Ty Spillane, Daniel Wilson, and Frederik Rindshøj—won their event in 1:28.40.
To conclude the meet, the women’s 400 free relay team (Zara Zallen, Sierra Smith, Francesca Smith, and Taylor Williams) took first place with a time of 3:26.51. The men’s 400 free relay group (Grant Bochenski, Sam Brown, Darden Tate, and Jaden Pospishil) finished first in their race at 2:56.78.
Missouri athletes claimed victory in eleven individual events. In the men’s 200 IM, Will Goodwin won with a time of 1:50.57 while Jan Zubik (1:50.66) and Matthew Mortenson (1:50.93) completed a sweep for Missouri.
Other top finishes included Matthew Stephenson and Mikolaj Malec taking first and second in the men’s 1000 freestyle; Jan Zubik winning both the men’s 100 fly (48.08) and 200 fly (1:45.84); Zara Zallen winning the women’s 100 free (51.35); Grant Bochenski securing first in the men’s 100 back (48.46); Lina Bank winning both women’s breaststroke events; Taylor Williams winning the women’s 200 fly; Colleen Duffy taking first in the women’s 200 back; and Matthew Stephenson leading the men’s field in the 500 free.
On diving boards, Collier Dyer posted a score of 389.90 on three-meter springboard—the eighth-best mark in program history.
