Former University of Missouri swimmers Mikel Schreuders and Clement Secchi are set to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Schreuders, representing Aruba, will participate in the 100m and 50m freestyle events. He is a three-time Olympian and holds Aruban records in multiple freestyle distances. Schreuders previously competed at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics, placing 45th overall in the 200 meters at Rio.

Schreuders had a notable collegiate career at Missouri from 2016 to 2019, earning All-America honors thirteen times. He became the first Tiger to win an individual Southeastern Conference title with his victory in the 200-meter freestyle in 2019. He also contributed to Mizzou’s success in relay events and helped secure three top-25 team finishes at NCAA meets during his tenure.

Secchi, who will swim for France, is making his Olympic debut. In his only season with Missouri (2023), he earned three honorable mention All-America honors and ranks among the university’s top five all-time performers in several events, including the 100 backstroke and butterfly races. Secchi won the 200 fly at the SEC Championships last year before finishing fourteenth at NCAAs.

The swimming competitions featuring Schreuders and Secchi will be broadcast on NBC networks during the Paris Olympics.
