The Missouri Tigers women’s basketball team announced on April 11 the signing of transfer guard McKenzie Mathurin from Michigan. Head coach Kellie Harper said that Mathurin, who is originally from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, will join the team for the upcoming season.

Mathurin played a role in helping the Michigan Wolverines reach their second-ever Elite Eight appearance this past season. She appeared in 25 games off the bench and scored double figures in three contests. Over her time on the court, she averaged 3.5 points and 0.7 rebounds in just under nine minutes per game.

Harper said, “Kenzie has been special from an early age, and her steady development over the years has shaped her into the player she is today. McKenzie is prepared and poised to thrive in our system and in the SEC. We’re excited to get to work!”

One of Mathurin’s standout performances came during a win over Penn State on January 8 when she scored a career-high 15 points on five-for-eight shooting along with an assist and a steal.

Before college, Mathurin was ranked as a four-star prospect and was listed as No. 39 overall recruit in her class after averaging more than twenty-two points per game as a senior at Broken Arrow High School. Her achievements included being named VYPE Magazine Miss Oklahoma Basketball, earning Naismith Watch List recognition, receiving a McDonald’s All-American nomination, making The Oklahoman’s Super 5 list, being named a Ballislife All-American for 2025, and selection to Tulsa World’s All-State team.

Mathurin becomes Missouri’s first portal addition for the team’s offseason.
