The University of Missouri’s swimming and diving team completed its Tiger Qualifier on Saturday at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. The event included a celebration for the team’s seniors before competition began.
In women’s diving, Kamryn Wong secured first place in both the 1-meter (273.53 points) and 3-meter (262.88 points) events. On the men’s side, Collier Dyer won the 3-meter dive with a score of 356.48, while Tommaso Zannella took first in platform diving with 355.35 points. In women’s platform diving, Lize Van Leeuwen from Kansas finished at the top with a score of 215.25.
On the swimming side, Abbey Taute led in the women’s 200-yard backstroke (1:57.96), and Grant Bochenski claimed victory in the men’s event (1:43.82). Sierra Smith won the women’s 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.13 seconds; Frederik Rindshøj won for men at 44.58 seconds.
Other winners included Holley Dennis in the women’s 200-yard breaststroke (2:15.85), John Watson in the men’s equivalent (1:59.79), Emily Roden in the women’s 200-yard butterfly (1:57.76), Jan Zubik in the men’s butterfly (1:44.44), and Matthew Stephenson taking first place in the men’s 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 15:57.59.
The women’s relay team—Williams, Zallen, F. Smith, and S. Smith—won their race in a combined time of 3:18.57, while Spillane, Whittington, Brown, and D. Wilson finished first for men at 43.42 seconds.
Next on schedule for Missouri’s swim and dive program is preparation for the SEC Championship Meet to be held from February 20 to February 24 in Auburn, Alabama.
