MU Health Care has announced the expansion of its Sports Medicine Injury Clinic services to Jefferson City, set to commence on May 1. The clinic, already established at the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute in Columbia, aims to improve access to medical care for sports injuries.
Operational from Monday to Friday, between 7 and 8 a.m., the clinic does not require prior appointment bookings. This early morning walk-in service seeks to accommodate the often inconvenient timing of sports injuries. “We know sports injuries don’t happen at convenient times, which is why we are so excited to offer an early morning walk-in clinic for you to be able to see a provider and get X-rays, casting/splinting, bracing and therapy all in one location,” said Dr. Jeff Klott, an orthopaedic surgeon with MU Health Care.
The clinic will be staffed by a physician at all times, providing care for various injuries such as broken bones, concussions, muscle strains, and ligament sprains or tears. This initiative is aimed at facilitating quicker access to medical providers and enabling prompt treatment plans. “Visiting the Sports Medicine Injury Clinic allows you to be seen by a medical provider more quickly, so you can start on a treatment plan as soon as possible,” added Dr. Timothy Galbraith, also an orthopaedic surgeon with MU Health Care.
Located on the second floor of the Madison Street Medical Building at 1125 Madison Street, the Sports Medicine Injury Clinic welcomes walk-in patients on a first-come, first-served basis.
