Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on social media between May 9 and May 11, 2026, addressing topics ranging from national security to Mother’s Day and law enforcement appreciation.
On May 9, Alford welcomed a government official to Kansas City and commented on recent political developments regarding immigration enforcement funding. He wrote: “Honored to welcome @SecMullinDHS to KC today. After Democrats recklessly shut down @DHSgov for political gain, Republicans are united in our mission to deliver full funding for immigration enforcement. This is a matter of national security and failure is not an option!”
The following day, May 10, Alford extended gratitude toward mothers across his district and the country. In his post he stated: “Sending our love and thanks to all of the hardworking mothers all over #MO04 and America! Especially grateful for my mom, Carolyn, & my wife, Leslie, for all they do every single day. Happy Mother’s Day “
On May 11, marking the start of National Police Week, Alford recognized law enforcement officers in Missouri and nationwide. He wrote: “As we begin #NationalPoliceWeek, we honor the Missouri law enforcement officers who serve with integrity, professionalism, courage, and compassion every day. Thank you to all of the heroes who protect our communities and keep Missouri, the U.S. Capitol and America safe!”
Alford has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after succeeding Vicky Hartzler as representative for Missouri’s 4th district. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988.
