Rep. Mark Alford, U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 4th district since 2023, addressed concerns about transparency and postal service delays in a series of posts on November 18, 2025.

In his first message, Alford emphasized the importance of openness in government, stating “Transparency is not a partisan issue—it’s a moral one. https://t.co/rmTGGvkH3d” (November 18, 2025).

Later that day, Alford discussed recent discussions with new Postmaster General David Steiner regarding ongoing challenges within the Postal Service affecting Missouri residents. He wrote, “I was encouraged to meet today with the new Postmaster General David Steiner talking about the challenges within the Postal Service and delayed delivery for Missouri. Since January 2024, there have been significant delays in the Kansas City area due to the bankruptcy of a private https://t.co/1DXEadcsD3” (November 18, 2025).

He also announced plans for further congressional oversight: “We hope to have a full @HouseAppropsGOP subcommittee hearing with the new Postmaster in the first part of the new year.

Alford’s focus on transparency and constituent services comes as he continues his tenure in Congress after replacing Vicky Hartzler in 2023. The Congressman was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and resides in Lake Winnebago. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in 1988.
