Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to address both support for small businesses and concerns about political violence.
On February 13, 2026, Alford highlighted bipartisan efforts in Kansas City to engage with local business owners. He wrote, “Proud to join @HouseSmallBiz Chairman @RepRWilliams and colleagues from both parties in Kansas City to hear directly from our small business owners. Main Street voices matter — and their growth strengthens every community in Missouri. https://t.co/XjKa4ugEVW”.
Later that day, Alford addressed a recent attempted arson at a Kansas City warehouse rumored to be a potential site for an ICE detention facility. In one post he stated, “Every elected official, Republican and Democrat, must join me in strongly condemning this dangerous, destructive, and lawless behavior. This type of violence is the intended outcome from the left’s incessant scapegoating, gaslighting, and threatening of federal law enforcement”. In another message on the same date he added, “The attempted arson at the Kansas City warehouse rumored to be a potential site for an ICE detention facility is textbook political violence, and potentially domestic terrorism. The perpetrator must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. https://t.co/KpDVDytrrc”.
Alford has represented Missouri’s 4th District since 2023 after succeeding Vicky Hartzler. Born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently residing in Lake Winnebago, Alford earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988.
