Rep. Mark Alford, U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 4th district since 2023, used his Twitter account on May 1, 2026, to announce federal funding achievements and legislative actions related to homeland security and environmental infrastructure.
On May 1, Alford posted: “We fought to keep our country safe and our workers paid. Today’s vote ensures DHS stays funded, TSA agents get their paychecks, and our borders remain protected!! WATCH: https://t.co/H61HL7IXOE” (May 1, 2026).
Later that day, he highlighted new funding for Missouri communities: “Missouri is receiving $1.594 million from the @EPA to combat sewage overflows and improve stormwater management. This targeted funding will help our MO-04 small towns & communities keep our rivers and lakes cleaner for generations to come. Proud to see dollars flowing back to https://t.co/f25GqTnFla” (May 1, 2026).
In a subsequent post referencing recent political developments in Congress, Alford wrote: “After a long four years of a lawless Biden Era and then 75 days of the left’s total dysfunction…@HouseGOP is restoring order, while putting the safety and security of this country first. Homeland Security is funded once again! https://t.co/WI4GYmbnaB” (May 1, 2026).
Alford succeeded Vicky Hartzler as representative for Missouri’s 4th District in January 2023. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford earned his BA from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988.
