Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on his social media account between May 15 and May 16, 2026. The posts covered topics ranging from bipartisan leadership in Congress to preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Kansas City, and developments related to E15 fuel availability.

On May 15, Alford acknowledged the work of colleagues on the House Financial Services Committee by posting: “Kudos to @FinancialCmte Chairman @RepFrenchHill and Ranking Member Waters for your outstanding bipartisan leadership.”

Later that day, he highlighted local efforts to improve public safety ahead of a major international event: “Kansas City, MO is preparing to welcome the WRLD. Great to see the KC Fire Department rolling out new custom ambulances and UTVs to strengthen emergency response ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Faster response times, better crowd safety ,+ a stronger KC for residents &” The post referred to enhancements made by Kansas City’s fire department as part of citywide readiness initiatives before hosting World Cup matches.

On May 16, Alford addressed energy policy with an update on ethanol fuel legislation: “ICYMI: Year-round E15 is one step closer to reality—lower gas prices, stronger support for our farmers, and American energy independence! No mandates. Just more choice & real savings at the pump. ️ https://t.co/1xRL9nZdsS”

Alford has represented Missouri’s 4th District since 2023 after succeeding Vicky Hartzler. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
