Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on April 16, 2026, regarding his recent meetings and policy priorities via social media.
In a post from April 16, Alford stated he had “Met with Missouri education leaders to discuss federal Title programs and IDEA funding in the Fiscal Year 2027 budget. We covered priorities for students, teachers, and districts across our region and how federal dollars can better support classrooms and special education”.
Later that day, Alford described his participation in a House Appropriations Committee session: “Today in @HouseAppropsGOP, I asked U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer about reducing reliance on China for critical supply chains like fertilizer and industrial inputs. Results: trade deficit down, exports at record highs, and U.S. manufacturing gaining strength. We’re”.
In another post on April 16, Alford addressed economic policy debates: “The Left must STOP with the lies. Here’s the truth: Our @HouseGOP Working Families Tax Cuts is actively benefiting everyday hardworking Americans. We’ll continue to put Americans first.”
Alford has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after succeeding Vicky Hartzler as representative of Missouri’s 4th District. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in 1988.
