Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, highlighted recent legislative actions and investments supporting farmers, rural communities, and low-income families in a series of social media posts between May 1 and May 2, 2026.

On May 2, Alford stated, “Proud to support a critical investment in America’s farmers, ranchers, and rural communities…the backbone of our nation’s food security and economic strength! Check out our MO-04 WINS: https://t.co/ueYV2ghjFn”.

Later that day, he added another post regarding food assistance programs: “Proud that our SHOPP Act was included in this year’s Farm Bill. Our bill will expand access to affordable frozen fruits, vegetables & legumes for SNAP families through GusNIP… helping more low-income Missouri households eat healthier. Mark Alford has served as the congressional representative for Missouri’s 4th District since 2023 after succeeding Vicky Hartzler ([source](#)), according to public records. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford earned his BA from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988.
