Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on May 4, 2026, highlighting his legislative efforts and support for small businesses and rural healthcare.
In one post from earlier that day, Alford wrote: “Grateful for their support of our bill: the Sustaining Rural Healthcare Act. This is an important step toward protecting access to quality care in rural Missouri. Always proud to listen, learn, and fight for this community!! #Working4You https://t.co/sjXAiGEjgd” (May 4, 2026).
Later in the evening, he addressed economic issues facing small businesses: “That’s why we’re working to deliver real relief for our job creators—like making the 20% small business deduction (199A) permanent + restoring 100% expensing for new investments!! So our small businesses can grow, hire, and plan for the future with confidence.” (May 4, 2026).
He also marked National Small Business Week by noting concerns he has heard from local entrepreneurs: “Happy National Small Business Week! As a member of @HouseSmallBiz I’ve heard directly from small business owners across Missouri’s Fourth District about the real challenges they’re facing: burdensome regulations, unnecessary tape, and uncertainty in the tax code. https://t.co/EUNNlxNt7n” (May 4, 2026).
Alford has represented Missouri’s 4th District since replacing Vicky Hartzler in Congress in 2023. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in 1988.
