PRESS RELEASE

On Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 6:22 pm, we were called to the 600 block of E Monroe regarding a report of gunshots and a dark truck leaving the area.  We found that someone had shot several windows at the Audrain Community Hospital building, near the former Emergency Room entrance.  Information from cooperative area residents and video led to the identification of Jeffrey W Huntington, age 56, of Mexico, as the suspect.  Huntington turned himself in at MPSD at 10:55 pm.  He was booked and taken to the Audrain County Jail for Unlawful Use of Weapon, Property Damage 1st Degree, and Armed Criminal Action.  There were no injuries from the incident.

Residents are reminded that people arrested/charged with a crime are simply accused of that crime and are to be considered innocent until proven guilty.
