Residents of Boone County are being encouraged to participate in a significant initiative aimed at addressing housing challenges and promoting sustainable community development. The County, in collaboration with the City of Columbia, is inviting all residents to contribute to the groundbreaking Boone County Housing Study. This study is part of the larger Boone County Upward Mobility Action Plan, which aims to address various housing issues within the region.

Residents can make their voices heard by attending community input meetings, filling out community surveys, or engaging in both activities. By doing so, they can ensure that their unique experiences and insights are taken into consideration in the development of the Housing Study. The study is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future of housing policies and strategies in Boone County.

In December 2023, Boone County announced its decision to enlist the expertise of Amarach Planning Services for the Housing Study. Amarach Planning Services is a consultancy that specializes in urban planning and housing analysis, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the project.

The Boone County Housing Study represents a significant step forward in the County's efforts to improve housing conditions and enhance community development. By actively participating in this initiative, residents can contribute to shaping a better future for themselves and their neighbors.
