March 20, 2024 – The City of Columbia Public Works Department has announced an upcoming open house meeting to discuss the development of a new fire station at the intersection of East Broadway and El Chaparral Avenue South. The meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 27, from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the lower level of the church building located at 1020 El Chaparral Ave. S, formerly New Horizons United Methodist Church.

The open house meeting aims to provide information and gather feedback from the community regarding the proposed fire station project. As stated by the City of Columbia Public Works Department, "The meeting, hosted by the City of Columbia Public Works Department, is open to the public."
