The City of Columbia is currently accepting applications for various boards, commissions, and task forces. Residents are encouraged to participate in local government and represent their community. The City Source newsletter for September 2024 highlights several upcoming events and announcements:
- National Customer Service Week will be celebrated from Oct. 7-11.
- The annual Commemorative Poster has been unveiled by the City of Columbia.
- The Columbia Fire Department will commence Fire Prevention Week on Oct. 6.
- Conrad Johnson has been recognized as the featured volunteer for September.
- The Mid-Mo Energy Expo is scheduled for Oct. 12.
- Residents are reminded by the Office of Sustainability not to drain pool water into storm drains.
- Parks and Recreation will host various events throughout the month.
- Public Health and Human Services advises community members to get vaccinated during flu season.
- Public Works continues efforts to preserve Columbia’s pavement.
