The Columbia Regional Airport (COU) has announced the opening of Tailwinds Market in its terminal, providing travelers with enhanced food and beverage options. The market utilizes Amazon's innovative technology, allowing customers to make purchases by swiping a credit or debit card or using a mobile payment app, then selecting items and exiting the market.

“We pride ourselves on an easy and convenient experience at COU,” stated Airport Manager Michael Parks. “This new upgraded offering ensures our passengers not only save drive time when choosing to fly local but also have the amenities they desire when traveling.”

Tailwinds Market offers a variety of products including sandwiches, salads, snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ice cream, sunglasses, phone chargers, personal care items, fresh-made coffee, and more. Additionally, it features a comfortable seating area with TVs, free Wi-Fi, and easy access to departure gates. Future plans include adding kitchen space for a hot grill to expand dining options.

The market is operated by Jackson Brothers, a refreshment services provider in mid-Missouri. Billy Dearing, general manager of Jackson Brothers said, “We are thrilled to be opening this new location at the airport. We are passionate about meeting the needs of our customers with unique offerings and elevating the experience for those flying COU.”

Tailwinds Market is located post-security in the terminal and operates 24/7. More information about airport amenities and flight options can be found at FlyCOU.com.
