Two days later, on June 17, Schmitt commented on recent demonstrations with a tweet stating: "The big takeaway from the 'No Kings Day' protests: This isn't 2020 anymore." He added that those who believe they can initiate another large-scale movement akin to past events are mistaken. The senator's remarks suggest skepticism about the potential impact of these protests.

Later that day, Schmitt announced his involvement in an upcoming Senate hearing via Twitter. He stated: "Tomorrow, I'll be chairing a Senate hearing on one of the most damning scandals in U.S. history." The tweet elaborated that the focus would be on allegations concerning President Biden's mental fitness and claimed deception by those close to him.
