Rep. Mark Alford, a U.S. Congress member representing Missouri's 4th District since 2023, has taken to social media to express his views on legislative matters and community engagement. The former news anchor, who replaced Vicky Hartzler in Congress, has been active in sharing his perspectives on significant bills and local events.

On June 17, 2025, Rep. Alford tweeted about the potential consequences of not passing the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB). He stated that "If OBBB does not pass, we would see increases in taxes of thousands of dollars on working Americans, we would see businesses contract, and we would see a substantial increase in the unemployment rate…Time for the Senate to get this passed!" emphasizing the urgency for Senate action.

Later that day, he highlighted the benefits of President Biden's proposed bill by tweeting " WINS in @POTUS’ One, Big Beautiful Bill! This is the BEST chance in a generation to pass the critical reforms Americans mandated:" signaling strong support for what he sees as essential reforms included within it.

In another tweet posted on June 17th, Alford addressed constituents regarding an upcoming event. He reassured those unable to attend a specific town hall meeting hosted by KCUR with " Didn’t get tickets to the KCUR Townhall? Don’t worry! Our regularly scheduled Town Hall Tour will be happening in August." He encouraged individuals to subscribe to his newsletter for further updates.

Born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently residing in Lake Winnebago, Mark Alford graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA degree in 1988.
