The University of Missouri's women's basketball team is set to renew its rivalry with Kansas on November 15 at T-Mobile Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. This upcoming game will be the 82nd meeting in the historic series between the two teams and marks their first regular-season matchup since February 18, 2012. In that last encounter, the Tigers secured a victory over the Jayhawks with a score of 70-65.

The teams recently faced each other in the second round of the 2023 Women's National Invitation Tournament. "This is one of the fiercest rivalries college athletics has to offer. It is a great opportunity for our fans and our team," said Missouri head coach Kellie Harper. She emphasized the importance of maintaining traditions amidst changes in collegiate sports, expressing her excitement about participating in her first Border War.

Harper joined as Mizzou's fifth head coach in March and brings extensive experience from her 20 seasons as a Division I head coach. Her career includes leading teams to nine NCAA Tournament appearances and achieving four conference tournament championships. Additionally, she has accumulated significant experience within the SEC both as a player and coach.

Grace Slaughter will lead Missouri's new-look roster into her junior season after being named the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for 2024-25. Last season, she averaged 15 points per game along with contributing 3.6 rebounds. The Tigers have also bolstered their lineup with seven transfer additions: Chloe Sotell from Pepperdine, Jayla Smith from Purdue, Lisa Thompson from Rutgers, Sydney Mains from Florida Atlantic, Shannon Dowell from Illinois State, Jordana Reisma from Cleveland State, and Saniah Tyler from Kentucky.

Kansas ended last season with an overall record of 16-14 and went 6-12 against conference opponents. They are led by junior guard S'Mya Nichols and senior guard Elle Evans who averaged 18.6 and 14.4 points respectively last year.

Details regarding tip-off time, television coverage, and ticket information will be announced later.

Season tickets for Mizzou's upcoming season are currently available starting at $65. Current ticket holders can renew through their Mizzou Tigers ticket account.
