U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) made an appearance on "Mornings with Maria" to discuss several key issues, including developments in the conflict with Iran, progress on the Senate's Big Beautiful Bill, and investigations into President Joe Biden's mental state and use of the autopen.

Discussing President Trump's foreign policy moves, Schmitt said, “I think it’s an incredible week for President Trump. And we talked about this before Maria. It’s a new era of foreign policy, one that’s defined by American realism.” He praised Trump's approach towards Iran and NATO, stating that it was a significant week from a foreign policy perspective.

On the topic of Missouri's B2 Bombers from Whiteman Airforce Base, Schmitt commented on their precision and dedication: “It’s pretty it’s pretty incredible. I’ve been there, those men and women, they serve our country admirably.”

Regarding the Senate's work on the Big Beautiful Bill, Schmitt noted ongoing negotiations over certain provisions: “We are prepared to be here this weekend and try to get this thing done. There’s still some moving parts.” He highlighted various elements within the bill intended to benefit American families and working individuals.

Addressing concerns about Joe Biden's presidency, Schmitt remarked on public uncertainty about leadership: “Well, I can’t tell you how many times people in Missouri have asked me, who is running the country?” He emphasized the need for clarity regarding decision-making during Biden's tenure.

Senator Schmitt concluded by discussing potential consequences surrounding investigations into Biden's use of the autopen: “So, this is a bigger scandal than Watergate, we need to continue to drill down on it.”
