Boone County is set to host its 4th Annual Ready Festival, an event focused on promoting community preparedness. The festival aims to enhance public awareness and readiness for emergencies.

A key moment of the festival will be the announcement of this year's recipient of the Tom S. Hurley Public Safety Service Award. This award honors individuals, agencies, or organizations that demonstrate exceptional community service in areas such as emergency preparedness, response, or resilience building. The award is named after the late Emergency Management Director Tom Hurley.

The festival continues to serve as a platform for engaging the community in discussions and activities related to safety and preparedness.
