The Boone County Commission is currently accepting applications for a position on the Daniel Boone Regional Library Board. The commission appoints four members to the nine-member Columbia and Boone County Library District Board. This board collaborates with the Callaway County Library Board, forming the Daniel Boone Regional Library Board.

Meetings of this joint board occur monthly, specifically on the first Thursday after the second Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., typically held at the Columbia Public Library. The board's responsibilities include overseeing the budget, setting policy, and ensuring high-quality library services are provided to the community.

Eligibility for application extends to all residents of Boone County, excluding those living within the Centralia Library District.
