Senator Eric Schmitt has recently shared a series of posts on social media expressing his views on the direction and priorities of U.S. foreign aid spending, while also urging legislative action aligned with former President Trump's agenda.

On July 14, 2025, Senator Schmitt stated that "Foreign aid must reflect and advance America's core interests — not the radical priorities of the previous administration or their activist friends." This comment highlights his concern over the current allocation of foreign aid resources.

In another post from the same date, Schmitt detailed specific expenditures by USAID: "USAID spent:

• $3M for Sesame Street in Iraq

• $2.5M for EVs in Vietnam

• $1.6M on DEI in Serbia

• $2M for sex changes & 'LGBT activism' in Guatemala

This isn’t foreign aid. It’s a joke." Here, he criticized what he described as misaligned funding priorities.

Finally, also on July 14, 2025, Senator Schmitt called for prompt legislative action: "The time to act is now.

I urge my Senate colleagues to seize this historic opportunity to deliver on Trump’s agenda and pass my rescissions package.

Let's get this done."

Senator Eric Schmitt represents Missouri in the United States Senate. He has been vocal about reducing federal spending and aligning U.S. foreign policy with what he describes as "America's core interests."
