Mizzou Baseball players Jackson Lovich and Sam Horn have been selected in the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft. Lovich was picked by the New York Yankees in the 16th round, 494th overall, while Horn was chosen by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 17th round, 525th overall. This marks the fourth consecutive year that multiple Tigers have been drafted.
Over the past four years, a total of 14 Mizzou players have been drafted. Lovich has played in 116 games with 108 starts for Mizzou over three seasons. In his junior year, he led the team with a .357 average and added 12 home runs and 51 RBIs. Previously recognized as Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year in high school, Lovich was also selected by the New York Mets in the 19th round of the MLB Draft in 2022.
Horn is a redshirt-sophomore who plays both baseball and football at Mizzou. He returned to baseball after missing a season due to injury, starting five games on the mound this year. In high school, Horn was ranked as a top-200 national recruit for both sports.
