U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) recently appeared on Fox News' Faulkner Focus to discuss two major topics: the investigation into President Joe Biden's use of an autopen and the rescissions package led by former President Trump.

During the interview, Senator Schmitt addressed concerns regarding the ongoing investigation into what he referred to as "Joe Biden’s autopen presidency." He stated, “This scandal keeps unfolding. I chaired a Committee about a month ago where we started an investigation into this to try and understand what exactly happened and what the implications are." He expressed doubts about whether pardons issued in the waning days of Biden's presidency were authorized by him, describing it as potentially more significant than Watergate.

On another front, Senator Schmitt is leading efforts in the Senate for President Trump's rescissions package. He highlighted that $9.4 billion is involved, with $1.1 billion aimed at halting taxpayer funding for NPR due to perceived ideological bias. The remaining funds are earmarked for foreign aid cuts. "We’ve seen that the abuses are staggering," Schmitt noted, emphasizing his commitment to eliminating wasteful spending.

Senator Schmitt also mentioned collaboration with other senators, including Senator Collins, stating, “We are working with Senator Collins who had some questions. We want to make sure we answer all their questions."

The procedural vote on this matter was anticipated soon, aiming for completion by Friday.
