Mizzou Tennis head coach Bianca Turati has resigned to take an associate head coach position at another institution, according to University of Missouri Director of Athletics Laird Veatch. The announcement was made on Monday.
Silvia Chinellato, the current associate head coach, has been appointed as the interim head coach for the Tigers. Veatch expressed gratitude for Turati's contributions over the past three years and extended best wishes for her future endeavors. "We appreciate Bianca's dedication to our program over the past three years, and we wish her all the best moving forward," said Veatch. He also praised Chinellato's impact since joining Mizzou, highlighting her previous coaching experience and playing background. "Silvia has been a great addition to our program since her arrival, and she brings previous head coaching experience and high-level playing experience to this role as interim head coach as we head into the 2025-26 season."
Chinellato joined Mizzou on September 6, 2024, and made significant contributions in her first season by helping secure two ranked Southeastern Conference wins against No. 55 Mississippi State on March 2 and No. 22 Florida on March 21.
Before joining Mizzou, Chinellato served as the head coach at Mount St. Mary's for both men's and women's tennis programs during the 2023-24 season. She began her career there as an assistant coach and led the women's team to a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference playoff spot in her first season.
Originally from Como, Italy, Chinellato played college tennis at South Carolina where she achieved a doubles record of 70-40 and a singles record of 72-50.
