Today, U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) responded to Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins' announcement that Kansas City, Missouri, will become one of the five relocation hubs for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). This decision is part of USDA's strategy to consolidate and optimize its functions.
Senator Schmitt expressed his support by stating: “Today’s announcement is a major victory for Kansas City, the State of Missouri, and the farmers and ranchers who have been left behind by D.C.’s out-of-touch bureaucracy. I’ve long believed that the federal government functions best when it’s grounded in reality—not confined to the D.C. bubble. It’s long past time we reconnect USDA’s decision makers with the farmers and ranchers they serve. Kansas City, which sits in the heartland of America and already houses key USDA offices, is a great place for this relocation.”
