Senator Eric Schmitt posted a series of statements on July 28, 2025, criticizing Judge Boasberg and raising concerns about judicial conduct in cases involving former President Donald Trump.

In his first post, Schmitt wrote, "It's clear that Judge Boasberg and his allies on the bench don't care about the rule of law. They care about stopping President Trump and the will of the American People, no matter the cost to the judiciary." (July 28, 2025).

He continued his criticism in a subsequent message: "Some have suggested that Judge Boasberg’s actions were a violation of Canon 2A of the Codes of Conduct." (July 28, 2025).

In another post from the same day, Schmitt stated: "He also said: 'I have not presided over cases in which my desired outcome was contrary to the law.' That's not possible unless he shapes the law to his desired outcome. Now he's threatening lawyers with 'discipline' after the Supreme Court ruled he had no jurisdiction."

Canon 2A of the Code of Conduct for United States Judges requires judges to act at all times in a manner that promotes public confidence in the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary. The role and conduct of federal judges are often scrutinized during high-profile cases or controversies involving political figures.

Senator Eric Schmitt represents Missouri in the U.S. Senate. His comments reflect ongoing debates regarding judicial independence and accountability amid politically sensitive legal proceedings.
