Missouri Tigers women's soccer will continue its early season road schedule with a match against No. 15 Memphis on Thursday at the Billy J. Murphy Athletic Complex. The game, scheduled for 7:30 p.m., will be available via live stream on ESPN+.
Missouri heads into its fourth contest of the 2025 season after suffering its first loss, a 1-0 defeat to No. 23 Saint Louis last Sunday. Through three games, Emily Derucki is tied for second in assists and leads the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in assists per game, averaging one per match. Mia Devrouax recently scored her first collegiate goal during Missouri's win over Youngstown State, while goalkeeper Kate Phillips ranks third in the SEC in saves per game with an average of 3.33.
Senior Hailey Chambliss also made an impact by scoring her first two goals for Missouri against Youngstown State—marking the program’s first multi-goal performance since October 2024. In that same match, Missouri recorded 20 shots, their highest total since September 2024.
This meeting marks the second consecutive year that Missouri and Memphis have faced each other; Memphis won last year's matchup in Columbia, bringing the all-time series to a tie at two wins apiece. This is only the second time Missouri has played at Memphis' home field; they previously lost there in August 2013.
Missouri aims to end Memphis’ regular-season home unbeaten streak dating back to October 2021.
The Tigers are celebrating their 30th season of competition this year and will host nine matches during the campaign, including five SEC contests—all but four coming in September. The current stretch marks their first run of three straight non-conference road games since opening the 2018 season with trips to Iowa, Iowa State and Colorado.
Memphis enters Thursday’s contest undefeated at 4-0 following a win over No. 11 Vanderbilt and victories against Ole Miss earlier this month. The team returns most of its roster from last year’s squad that finished with a record of 13-2-4.
In recent action, Mizzou fell to Saint Louis despite outshooting them in the second half and holding an edge in corner kicks; Phillips recorded four saves during that match.
Earlier this season against Youngstown State, Landis Canada scored her first goal of the year while Brianna Buels netted her fifth career goal. Chambliss added two more goals late in that contest and Devrouax tallied her first career score as well.
Chambliss returned to play this spring after redshirting last season due to childbirth; she currently holds one of the top single-game scoring performances within conference play so far this year.
Senior midfielder Keegan Good is Missouri's top returning scorer from last season with three goals and was among eight players who registered multiple points in individual games throughout last year’s campaign. Goalkeeper Phillips had notable performances with seven or more saves twice during that period.
Six Tigers—Buels, Canada, Derucki, Good, Morgan Meador and Mia Yang—were named to this year's SEC Soccer Preseason Watchlist.
Good balanced athletics with academics by playing for Rochester FC over summer while interning at Mayo Clinic on orthopedic research under Dr. Rafael Sierra and preparing for medical school entrance exams alongside advanced coursework.
On staff changes, head coach Stefanie Golan brought on Renee Horton as associate head coach from West Georgia and Austen Parker as goalkeeper coach from North Texas ahead of this season; both bring experience from previous coaching roles across various programs.
Facility improvements are underway thanks to a major philanthropic gift from Audrey J. Walton—the largest ever dedicated solely to Olympic sports at Mizzou—which will fund enhancements including a new natural grass soccer field at Audrey J. Walton Track & Field and Soccer Stadium.
