Missouri soccer will face Missouri State in Springfield on Sunday, August 31, at 7:30 p.m. The match at Betty & Bobby Allison South Stadium is the team's final non-conference road game before conference play and will be available via live stream on ESPN+.

Missouri comes into its fifth game of the 2025 season after a 2-1 loss to No. 15 Memphis. In that match, Mia Yang scored her first career goal in the 41st minute, assisted by Landis Canada. Emily Derucki currently ranks tied for fifth in assists and assists per game in the Southeastern Conference through four games and set a personal record with three shots against Memphis.

Other recent performances include Mia Devrouax's first collegiate goal against Youngstown State and Kate Phillips ranking fourth in the SEC for saves per game. Senior Hailey Chambliss scored her first two goals for Missouri during the Youngstown State match, marking the program’s first multi-goal performance since October 2024.

Missouri leads its series against Missouri State, having won all four previous meetings between the programs. Missouri State recently defeated SEMO and has a record of 2-2-1 this season. Last year, Missouri State finished with a record of 13-5-3, won the CUSA Tournament Championship, and appeared in the NCAA Tournament.

This season marks Missouri's 30th year competing as a program. The team will host nine home games during the year, five of which are Southeastern Conference matches. The current schedule includes three consecutive non-conference road games for the first time since 2018.

Chambliss returned to competition this spring after redshirting last season due to childbirth. Her two goals against Youngstown State are tied for second-most scored by any player in a single SEC game so far this year.

Returning players include senior midfielder Keegan Good, who led all returning Tigers with three goals last season while preparing for medical school. Over the summer, Good played for Rochester FC in the USL W League and interned at Mayo Clinic on Dr. Rafael Sierra’s orthopedic research team while also studying for her MCAT exams.

Several Tigers—Brianna Buels, Landis Canada, Emily Derucki, Keegan Good, Morgan Meador and Mia Yang—were named to this year's SEC Soccer Preseason Watchlist.

The coaching staff added Renee Horton as associate head coach from West Georgia and Austen Parker as goalkeeper coach from North Texas ahead of this season.

Facility upgrades are underway following a major philanthropic gift from Audrey J. Walton announced earlier this year by University of Missouri Athletics. The enhancements include installation of a new natural grass playing field at Audrey J. Walton Track and Field and Soccer Stadium—a facility that has hosted events since opening in 1996.
