Missouri Tigers women's soccer will play its final non-conference match of the 2025 season against the Kansas City Roos on Sunday at 7 p.m. The game is set to take place at Audrey J. Walton Stadium and will be streamed live on SEC Network+.

The Tigers enter this matchup following a 2-0 home loss to Illinois, where they outshot their opponent but were unable to score. Kate Phillips made two saves in the first half, and Derucki led Missouri with four shots, including two on target. Illinois scored in the 46th and 59th minutes.

Earlier in the season, Olivia Chianelli scored her first goal of the year to break a tie against Missouri State, while Ava Vetter added her second goal of the season shortly after, assisted by McKenna Moran. Mia Yang also netted her first career goal during an away game at Memphis, with Landis Canada providing her second career assist. Mia Devrouax scored her first collegiate goal against Youngstown State.

Kate Phillips ranks tied for sixth in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) for total saves and fifth for average saves per contest this season. Senior Hailey Chambliss recorded her first two goals for Missouri against Youngstown State, marking the team's first multi-goal performance by a player since October 2024.

Missouri has taken a total of 20 shots in a single game this season, their highest since recording 26 against SEMO last September.

In terms of series history, Missouri leads Kansas City with two wins from previous meetings—one at home and one away—with their most recent victory coming in September 2013.

Kansas City enters Sunday's match with a record of four wins and three losses after defeating Marquette. The Roos were picked ninth in Summit League preseason rankings and return nine players from last year's team that finished just below .500.

Missouri is celebrating its 30th season in competition this year and will host nine games during the campaign, five of which are SEC matches scheduled for September.

The Tigers' roster features several returning contributors from last season. Senior midfielder Keegan Good is back as top scorer from last year with three goals and was recently named to the SEC Soccer Preseason Watchlist along with Brianna Buels, Landis Canada, Derucki, Morgan Meador, and Mia Yang.

Good spent her summer playing for Rochester FC in the USL W League while interning at Mayo Clinic under Dr. Rafael Sierra's orthopedic research team. She balanced these commitments alongside academic preparations for medical school applications.

Head coach Stefanie Golan made staff changes ahead of this season by adding associate head coach Renee Horton from West Georgia and goalkeeper coach Austen Parker from North Texas. Horton brings experience coaching teams to NCAA Tournament appearances and conference titles; Parker previously led his college team to a national championship as a player before moving into coaching roles across Oklahoma clubs and universities.

Facility improvements are underway at Audrey J. Walton Track & Field and Soccer Stadium thanks to what university officials describe as one of Mizzou Athletics’ largest-ever philanthropic gifts dedicated specifically to Olympic sports facilities upgrades—including installation of new natural grass surfaces announced earlier this year (https://mutigers.com/news/2025/1/29/general-mizzou-athletics-announces-facility-enhancements-for-audrey-j-walton-track-field-and-soccer-stadium.aspx).
