U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.) has introduced a Senate Resolution to honor the airmen and sailors involved in Operation Midnight Hammer, which targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities. The resolution recognizes the contributions of Missouri B-2 bomber pilots and other servicemembers who participated in what officials have described as a highly successful military operation.

Senator Schmitt visited Whiteman Air Force Base during the August state work period to meet with those involved in the mission. He expressed his gratitude for their service, though noted that “the pilots directly involved in the operation are not pictured.”

“Operation Midnight Hammer was a successful precision strike that decimated Iran’s nuclear ambitions, demonstrated the unparalleled capabilities of our military, and stands as a testament to the competence and bravery of the airmen at Whiteman Air Force Base and our American sailors. These brave men and women are heroes who deserve full recognition for their actions, which is why I am proud to introduce this resolution to honor their service and success,” said Senator Schmitt.

The resolution is co-sponsored by Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Katie Britt (R-AL), Ted Budd (R-NC), Tom Cotton (R-AR), Ted Cruz (R-TX), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), David McCormick (R-PA), James Risch (R-ID), Rick Scott (R-FL), Tim Sheehy (R-MT), and Dan Sullivan (R-AK).

Further details on the resolution can be found through official channels.
