Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently used his social media platform to address issues ranging from public services in rural communities to ongoing violence affecting military institutions.
On September 11, 2025, Alford expressed concerns about the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and its service provision for rural areas. In his post, he stated, "I share the same deep concerns about ensuring that NOAA remains able to provide the best possible service for our constituents! It is important for rural communities to have this service, like the one in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, open and operating with humans and not just AI."
Later that day, Alford commented on economic policies impacting his district. He wrote on September 11, 2025: "How is @HouseGOP working for MO-04? Simple. Working Families Tax Cuts = more money for Missouri families."
Addressing a separate issue on September 12, 2025, Alford responded to violence at the U.S. Naval Academy by offering condolences and support: "This cycle of violence must end. Leslie and I are praying for the midshipmen and staff at the Naval Academy, as well as their loved ones. our office will continue to monitor the situation in Annapolis. We also pray our fellow Americans turn to their faith in God during these"
Alford began serving Missouri’s 4th district in Congress in 2023 after succeeding Vicky Hartzler. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford holds a BA from the University of Texas at Austin.
