The University of Missouri men's golf team will host the Tiger Collegiate Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia. Seventeen additional schools are scheduled to compete in the tournament, which begins with an 8 a.m. CT shotgun start each day. Players will complete two 18-hole rounds on Monday and a final round on Tuesday.
The event takes place on a par-70 course that measures 7,158 yards. Admission is free for all attendees.
Competing teams include Central Arkansas, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Drake, Iowa State, Kansas State, Lindenwood, Nebraska, North Alabama, Oral Roberts, Saint Mary's, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Stetson, No. 26 UNLV, UTRGV and Wyoming.
This marks the eighth edition of the Tiger Intercollegiate held at The Club at Old Hawthorne. Missouri has previously won four out of seven championships at its home course (2017, 2018, 2021 and 2022).
In last year's tournament, Missouri finished second with a -9 score—two strokes behind champion Iowa State. Jack Lundin secured his second consecutive individual title for Missouri by finishing with a score of -13.
Veikka Viskari is highlighted as a player to watch after setting a record in September by shooting a 61 during his first official tournament round at The Club at Old Hawthorne.
Three seniors—Dagbjartur Sigurbrandsson (four-year member), Trevor Mierl (second season), and Mattias Varjun (first season)—will play their final event in Columbia during this tournament. Sigurbrandsson contributed to three NCAA Championship Regional appearances and holds a 73.96 stroke average at Missouri; Mierl has posted a 74.36 stroke average over 36 rounds; Varjun has averaged 74.14 over 21 rounds this year.
Missouri's lineup includes Veikka Viskari, Virgilio Paz, Trent Mierl, Brock Snyder and Mattias Varjun as starters. Trevor Mierl, Dagbjartur Sigurbrandsson, Jakob Hansen and Bubba Chapman will compete as individuals.
After the Tiger Collegiate Invitational concludes, Missouri will finish its regular season at the Mossy Oak Collegiate beginning April 14.
