Mizzou Track & Field teams set new academic records during the 2020 spring semester, with each group achieving its highest-ever team grade point averages. The women's cross country team posted a GPA of 3.82, while the men's cross country team reached 3.60. The women's track & field team earned a 3.74, and the men's track & field team recorded a 3.33.

A total of 90 student-athletes from the program finished the semester with GPAs of 3.0 or higher. Of these, 33—25 women and eight men—achieved perfect 4.0 GPAs. The women's team maintained its run of academic success, marking its 36th consecutive semester with at least a 3.0 team GPA since 2003.

The NCAA Indoor Championships were canceled on March 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the outdoor season was also called off soon after.

"After their season was cut short, Mizzou student-athletes, coupled with the assistance of the hard-working Mizzou Made staff, did a superb job transitioning to online learning to continue its well documented success in the classroom."
