Mizzou Cross Country reported record academic achievements for the 2020 spring semester, with both men's and women's teams earning their highest team grade point averages to date. The men's team recorded a GPA of 3.60, surpassing its previous best of 3.40 set in fall 2016. The women's team achieved a GPA of 3.82, exceeding its former record of 3.68 from spring 2003.
The women's program also maintained a streak of academic consistency, marking its 22nd consecutive semester with a team GPA at or above 3.0, a run that began in fall 2010.
The transition to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic required adjustments from student-athletes and support staff alike. "When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in mid-March, Mizzou student-athletes, coupled with the assistance of the hard-working Mizzou Made staff, did a superb job transitioning to online learning to continue its well documented success in the classroom," according to the release.
