The NCAA announced that the Big 12 Conference has received 61 pre-allocations for the 2025 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship, ranking second among all Division I leagues. The Big Ten leads with 87 allocations.

Pre-allocations are determined using a sliding scale based on three standards: win percentage, coaches' rank, and RPI ranking. Wrestlers who meet at least two of these criteria earn a qualifying spot for their conference tournament in their weight class. Each conference is guaranteed at least one automatic qualification per weight class, which goes to the tournament champion if no wrestler meets two of the three thresholds. Qualification spots for each event will be awarded at conference tournaments based solely on place-finish.

Once all conference tournaments conclude, the NCAA Division I Wrestling Committee will select 43 at-large qualifiers during an in-person meeting. These selections will be announced on March 11, and brackets and seeding will follow on March 12 via NCAA.com. Each weight class will feature 33 wrestlers.

Last season, Missouri qualified nine out of ten wrestlers through the Big 12 Tournament, with one additional athlete earning an at-large bid. Brackets and seeds for this year's conference tournament are scheduled to be released on March 4.

Missouri currently has seven of its ten wrestlers ranked in the third and final NCAA coaches' rankings, with four athletes placed in the top 15 of their respective weight classes:

125 | No. 33 Gage Walker

141 | No. 15 Josh Edmond

157 | No. 26 James Conway

165 | No. 14 Cam Steed

174 | No. 5 Keegan O'Toole

184 | No. 11 Colton Hawks

285 | No. 29 Seth Nitzel

The Tigers are set to compete in the Big 12 Championship starting Saturday, March 8 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
