Missouri swimming and diving places multiple athletes on podium at Georgia Invitational

The University of Missouri's swimming and diving teams advanced 35 swimmers and three divers to the finals during the second day of competition at the Georgia Invitational, held at Gabrielsen Natatorium.

Seven Tigers swimmers qualified for A-competition finals on Thursday, with three reaching the podium. Grant Bochenski secured a second-place finish in the men's 100 backstroke, clocking in at 45.66 seconds. Jan Zubik earned a bronze medal in the men's 100 butterfly with a time of 45.99 seconds.

Bochenski and Zubik also contributed to the men's 200 medley relay team, which finished third. They were joined by Logan Ottke and Luke Nebrich, and together they posted a time of 1:24.19.

On the diving side, Collier Dyer took second place in the men's 3-meter event with a score of 373.80.

In women's events, Karolina Bank placed fourth in the 100 breaststroke (59.97 seconds), while Paige Striley finished fifth in the 100 butterfly (52.62 seconds). Megan Jolly achieved fifth place in the women's 1-meter diving with a score of 265.20.

Alex Ochsenbein advanced to the final round of the men's 100 breaststroke as a redshirt freshman and finished fifth with a time of 52.60 seconds.

"The Tigers will compete in the third and final day of the Georgia Invitational Friday, with prelims beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT. Diving will compete in a final competition at 10:30 a.m., followed by swimming finals at 4:00 p.m."

The events scheduled for Friday include men's and women's platform diving, as well as races such as the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 1650 freestyle, and the finals-only 400 freestyle relay.
