The University of Missouri swimming team will conclude its 2024-25 regular season by hosting the Mizzou Qualifier at the Mizzou Aquatic Center this weekend. The event will feature preliminary rounds starting Saturday at 10 a.m., with finals scheduled for 5 p.m. The same schedule will be followed on Sunday.
Admission to the meet is free and open to the public. Live results can be accessed through the MeetMobile app.
All members of the swimming squad are set to compete, aiming to improve their times and secure qualification for the NCAA Championships later in March. The Women's NCAA Championships are scheduled for March 19-22 in Federal Way, Washington, while the Men's NCAA Championships will take place from March 26-29.
Events on Saturday include the 500 free, 100 fly, 100 back, 100 breast, 100 free, 200 medley relay, and 400 free relay. Sunday's events consist of the 50 free, 200 fly, 200 back, 200 free, 200 breast, 200 IM, 200 free relay, 400 medley relay, and the 1650 free.
At their previous competition during the SEC Championships:
Grant Bochenski set a program record in the men's 50 backstroke with a leadoff leg time of 20.77 seconds in the 200 medley relay.
Calvin Windle recorded the third-fastest time in program history for the men's 200 freestyle with a leadoff time of 1:33.06 during the men's 800 free relay.
The women's team of Sierra Smith, Zara Zallen, Katie Kuehn and Grace Hanson achieved an NCAA A Cut time of 1:28.22 in the women's 200 free relay—this was their season best and earned them sixth place.
Luke Nebrich, Grant Bochenski, Ethan Vance and Darden Tate finished second fastest in program history for men's 200 free relay with a time of 1:16.37 and secured an NCAA A-cut qualifying mark.
Nebrich also swam a personal best of 19.02 seconds in the men's 50 freestyle final—the second-fastest ever at Missouri—and placed eleventh.
Megan Jolly tied for eleventh place in women's three-meter diving with a score of 288.10.
Taylor Williams posted a time of 52.27 seconds in women's 100 butterfly—the sixth-fastest mark in school history—finishing seventeenth; Paige Striley's preliminary round swim clocked at 52.41 seconds was seventh-best all-time at Missouri.
Bochenski completed his men's 100 backstroke race in 45.71 seconds to finish ninth overall.
Jan Zubik reached his third consecutive SEC Championship final in men’s 200 butterfly; he finished tenth with a time of 1:41.26—the fourth fastest ever by a Tiger swimmer.
Karolina Bank placed tenth overall in women’s 100 breaststroke with her swim of 58.99 seconds—the third-fastest mark for Missouri.
Collier Dyer scored 417.90 points (third highest all-time) to finish fourth in men’s platform diving; Tommaso Zanella scored 392.20 (seventh all-time), tying for fifth place.
Zara Zallen qualified for her A-final after posting a preliminary swim of 48.14 seconds (fourth fastest all-time) in women’s 100 freestyle; she ultimately finished sixth with a final swim of 48.31 seconds.
Sophomore Zoe Schneider recorded Missouri's third-fastest women’s 1650 freestyle time (16:13.62), finishing fourteenth; Peyton Drexler was close behind at sixteenth place (16:19.19), setting Missouri's fourth-best mark.
Jibran Himsieh completed his men’s 1650 freestyle race with a seventh-best program time of 15:21.82.
Looking ahead, Mizzou's diving squad is scheduled to travel to Iowa City from March10-12 to participate in NCAA Zone Diving Championships.
