Missouri men’s golf moves to third after strong second round at Canadian Collegiate Invitational

The University of Missouri men's golf team improved its position at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational, moving up to third place after the second round on Monday. The Tigers finished the day with a 10-under score, marking their best performance in five rounds this season and surpassing their previous opening round by three strokes.

Four Missouri golfers contributed under-par rounds to the team's total. Senior Virgilio Paz and junior Bradley Mulder each shot a three-under 69, recording seven birdies apiece. Paz advanced four spots on the leaderboard to reach 12th overall at four-under par (71-69), while Mulder made the biggest jump for the team, climbing 13 places to finish in 30th (77-69).

Junior Veikka Viskari remains the top performer for Missouri, aiming for his second consecutive top-10 finish this season. He posted a two-under 70 and currently holds sixth place with a two-day total of seven-under (67-70). Freshman Reese Roberts also shot two-under on Monday (73-70) and is tied for 19th alongside sophomore Trent Mierl (70-73).

Notre Dame leads the tournament at 25-under par, followed by Michigan at 20-under. Missouri sits in third at 17-under, with UNC Wilmington (-13) and Miami University (-3) rounding out the top five.

The final round will take place Tuesday morning.
