The University of Missouri men's golf team secured a third-place finish at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational held in Foot's Bay, Ontario. Three members of the Tigers finished among the top 20 golfers during the event.

"It was another solid week for us," said Mizzou head coach Glen Millican. "There are some areas from today that we need to clean up but overall, good playing from the guys. It is a good start for us on this two-tournament trip and we're ready to start our prep for Blessings. MIZ"

Junior Veikka Viskari led the team for the second consecutive tournament, posting a three-day score of six under par (67-70-73). He recorded five birdies during Tuesday's round and totaled 17 birdies over the course of the tournament, finishing 11th out of 62 competitors.

Junior Virgilio Paz contributed with consistent play, leading the Tigers in scoring for a second straight day by shooting a final-round 71. Paz finished under par in all three rounds—his second time achieving this feat—and matched Viskari with 17 birdies throughout the event, placing 12th at five under par (71-69-71).

"These past two weeks have been positive for the team since we played some really good golf," Paz said. "Personally, I felt solid this week in Canada as I made a lot of birdies and managed my emotions much better compared to last week in Michigan. I'm happy with how my game is progressing and I know there are still many areas where I can keep improving."

Sophomore Trent Mierl also placed within the top 20, finishing even par across three rounds (70-73-73) to secure 18th place. Freshman Reese Roberts came in at +2 (73-70-75) to finish 24th, junior Bradley Mulder was 36th at +6 (77-69-76), and Bubba Chapman took 54th place at +18 (77-80-77).

Missouri ended third out of eleven teams with an overall score of thirteen under par (281-278-292). Notre Dame repeated as tournament champions, followed by Michigan, Missouri, Rutgers, and UNC Wilmington.

The Tigers will compete next at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas starting Monday, September 29.
