Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently used his social media platform to address key legislative issues and commemorate Constitution Day.
On September 16, 2025, Alford expressed his stance on government funding measures, stating, "I hate Continuing Resolutions, but we must pass this short-term one to: Avoid a disastrous government shut down Give us the time to return to regular order Allow the Trump Administration to continue advancing the America First agenda Let's get it done!" He posted this message as Congress faced another deadline to prevent a government shutdown.
Later that day, Alford advocated for new legislation by posting, "This is why we need the Saving the American Dream Act!" The statement underscored his support for fiscal reforms aimed at addressing long-term economic challenges.
On September 17, 2025—Constitution Day—Alford marked the anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution with a message emphasizing its enduring significance: "238 years ago, our Founding Fathers signed the Constitution and set in motion the greatest experiment in freedom the world has ever known. On Constitution Day, we remain committed to defending those rights and liberties that keep America strong. "
Alford has served in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Vicky Hartzler as representative of Missouri’s 4th district. Born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently residing in Lake Winnebago, he holds a BA from the University of Texas at Austin (1988).
