Senator Eric Schmitt, representing Missouri in the U.S. Senate, posted a series of statements on September 18, 2025, addressing political polarization, media accountability, and national security training resources.

In one post dated September 18, 2025, Schmitt stated: "We can't have 'unity' until we confront the truth: One side has embraced dangerous extremism. And it isn't us."

On the same day, he commented on media coverage and government actions with: "The Left waxes poetic about 'free speech' when Jimmy Kimmel loses his show for brazenly lying to his viewers and plummeting in ratings. But when their side weaponize the federal agencies against the entire conservative movement—it's crickets."

Later that day, Schmitt addressed national security concerns regarding immigration enforcement training: "Fort Leonard Wood has the capacity and the resources to help train new ICE agents—it’s time we use it. Missouri is once again ready to answer the call to defend our nation."

Senator Schmitt has previously advocated for increased border security measures and has supported expanding resources for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) training programs at Missouri's military installations. Fort Leonard Wood is a U.S. Army training installation located in Missouri that has been used for various military and law enforcement training purposes.
