Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, announced a major initiative to support rural healthcare through a series of posts on September 23, 2025.

In his first post, Alford stated, "Together, we’re championing the Rural Health Transformation Program: a $50B investment delivered under President Trump’s tax cuts for working families, that will help keep hospitals open, recruit doctors and nurses, and bring quality care closer to home." This program is positioned as a significant federal investment aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure in rural areas.

Alford also highlighted his collaboration with fellow lawmakers from Missouri. Mark Alford has served as the representative for Missouri’s 4th District since 2023 after succeeding Vicky Hartzler. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin, graduating in 1988.
