The University of Missouri swimming and diving program has announced the addition of two new assistant coaches. Head coach Andrew Grevers introduced Kate McCarville as assistant coach and Mohab Ishak as assistant diving coach. Ishak will work alongside head diving coach Kyle Bogner.

Kate McCarville, from Springfield, Missouri, was previously a member of the University of Tennessee women's swimming and diving team. She earned Second Team All-America honors in the 500 freestyle and contributed to top-10 team finishes at the NCAA Division I Championships, including fourth place in 2024 and fifth in 2025. In Southeastern Conference competition, she regularly reached finals in multiple events and helped Tennessee win a conference championship in 2022 with runner-up finishes in 2023 and 2024. McCarville holds three top-10 times in Tennessee program history for distance freestyle events and qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in both 2021 and 2024.

McCarville graduated summa cum laude with a double major in therapeutic recreation and psychology, along with a minor in leadership studies. She maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA during her collegiate career, was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll, and received the Lady Vol Student-Athlete Academic Achiever Award.

Her contributions extended beyond athletics. "She was a recipient of the University of Tennessee's Torchbearer Award, the highest honor given to undergraduate students. Each year, it recognizes seven to 10 seniors from the entire university's graduating class who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership and dedicated service to others." As part of VOLeaders Academy, she participated in an international service trip to the Philippines focused on working with local schools and disability service organizations. She also served on leadership teams for student-athlete ministry groups and volunteered with programs supporting individuals with disabilities.

Mohab Ishak joins Missouri after serving as assistant diving coach at Keiser University. An Egypt native, Ishak competed as part of Egypt’s Olympic diving squad at both the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics. At Tokyo, he finished 11th in the 3-meter springboard event—Egypt’s best result since 1948. He also won silver at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China.

During his tenure at Keiser University, Ishak helped guide both men’s and women’s teams to NAIA National Championships. He mentored Juan Gonzalez to national titles in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events; Gonzalez was named NAIA Diver of the Year as well as SUN Diver of the Year. Ishak also coached AC Taylor to NAIA All-America honors.

Ishak holds a Bachelor’s degree in Egyptology from Helwan University’s Faculty of Tourism and Hotels Management.

The Tigers are set to begin their season at the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup in Carmel, Indiana from October 10-12.
