Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on his social media account on October 5 and 6, 2025, addressing topics ranging from faith to ongoing political disputes in Washington.
In a post dated October 5, Alford wrote, "The mustard seed, though tiny, is a symbol of living, growing faith that can produce immense results. Even the smallest faith, when put into action, carries great power. Jesus said mustard-seed faith can move what looks unmovable. Don’t wait for 'bigger' faith—trust Him today," referencing religious themes and encouraging followers to act on their beliefs.
Later the same day, Alford commented on the federal government shutdown with another message: "Day 5 of the Schumer Shutdown. On this Sunday, I’m praying Democrats find some common sense, finally put the American people above their political games."
On October 6, he continued to address the government shutdown situation by posting: "On the 6th day of the #SchumerShutdown, the Left is STILL putting illegal aliens over the wellbeing of American citizens."
Mark Alford began serving as a member of Congress for Missouri's 4th District in 2023 after succeeding Vicky Hartzler. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
